[REL] Road to Asia v1.1.4 by TerraMaps

Welcome to the Road to Asia!

It is with great pleasure we announce that Road to Asia 1.1.4 has officially been released for ETS2 1.42!
The biggest update of TerraMaps yet



Road to Asia has been a partner of TerraMaps for a long time. With the combined resources and bright minds in all departments coming together as one. We will deliver an amazing Road to Asia and work hard with releasing it!

We encourage Premium Downloads as these purchases fund our project directly and help support our modelers, developers, and various other team members. We truly appreciate it and it helps TerraMaps grow! Also, the premium download will take under 1-2 minutes and all you have to do is unzip and drag and drop the files into your mod folder instead of dealing with Sharemods and pop ups! Of course, if you aren't comfortable throwing us a euro, no worries, you can still enjoy Road to Asia 1.1 for free throgh Sharemods!

What areas is our map included?


-This update of RtAsia will add two border cities in Afghanistan, the rest of Turkmenistan, completing the country’s expansion, and, for the time being, a ferry to a very unique new area of the map: The Koreas.
Added Nampo-Jakarta Ferry (JRR) and Nampo-Salvador Ferry (EAA) per requests. These ferries will only activate when you have JRR or EAA installed in your profile, no additional mods needed

Important Changes
- We added a new MODELS file, so now there are 3 required files to download, load order is: Def/Map, Assets, Models in that order above Great Steppe
- We also updated our ASSETS so remove your old ASSETS file and replace it with the new one on our website
- We took out the Valencia ferry per popular requests. If you want a Vanilla version or the ferry back, feel free to download the Optional Valencia Ferry Mod, place it right above Def/Map. This mod is not required to make Road to Asia work, it's optional if you want the ferry
- The AZGE Baku-Turkmenbashi ferry is included in the Def/Map. If you have AZGE, it'll automatically activate the ferry connection

This map has no dependencies except for all ETS2 DLC Maps of course (including Iberia), we will try go answer your questions but if we cannot provide concrete answers to all of your questions now, please understand.

26 AUGUSTUS 2021:
- Road to Asia version 1.1. is released.
Turkmenistan Complete, Afghanistan and both Korea's.
4 SEPTEMBER 2021:
- Road to Asia version 1.1.1 is released.
Bug fixes update and Added Nampo-Jakarta Ferry (JRR) and Nampo-Salvador Ferry (EAA)
22 OCTOBER 2021
- Road to Asia version 1.1.2 is released
- Compatible with 1.42 and convoy ready
- Fixed some errors and bugs in the assets files
2 NOVEMBER 2021
- Road to Asia version 1.1.4 is released
- Patched bugs found in previous versions, prevented CTD chances in Ashgabat and Tejen, fixed signage and compatibility with SibirMap
- Added OpenGL compatibility (expect minor issues with black police cars etc, will fix in next version)

Turkmensistan is one of the most boring country's to drive in. Unless you like deserts off course and you want to make very long (boring) hauls.

Hello and Respect. I'm really loved and interested in your map and future plan. But I have a good suggestion, there are beautiful landscapes in the north of Iran including Golestan Province. Two main cities are Gorgan as a capital (that it seems in your plan) and historical city of the province is Gonbad Kavus that has "The Tallest All-Brick Tower in the World" built in 1006-07. Furthermore to the east of the province there is a beautiful nature called "Golestan National Park". If this happens:

1- This is a way to get rid of the Turkmenistan deserts.
2- Drivers will enjoy the beautiful roads.
3- There is a connection from northeastern border of Iran through the national park to Ashgabat
4- Also from west it could be a good connection between the sea and forests to Azerbaijan or even Project Turkey.

And finally it's all up to you and your work time, thanks to developers. Good luck(y)

Hi everyone, thank you for your continued support of TerraMaps. I am glad to see the requests for northern Iran, but I have to be completely honest with you all, it's undecided at this time if we will do Iran because the assets from the former road to asia team included those old EW/FLD roads and prefabs and they were used everywhere in Gorgan and for about 200km of roads. They are very nicely done with fancy highways, scenery, etc too, but the roads makes the entire environment look very ugly and we also have to start removing FLD assets as it will eventually cause some conflicts with ProMods (from what I've been told).

Lead Developer Tedesco made the decision to temporarily scrap Iran because of this and the amount of rework we'd have to do (which essentially means starting fresh), and it's quite sad because again the road network was very nicely done and I think the scenery was truly captured as you stated, but the concept of looking at something done and then having to redo it doesn't settle well from a development standpoint.

We decided to focus east to get to China ASAP instead, and all of our road to asia developers are assigned areas in Turkmenistan now. However, this may all change suddenly too and we may reassess our approach to Iran. As of now though, Iran's fate is undecided, but that can change at any given time due to Esenguly's close proximity to it.

TLDR; as of now, no Iran for 1.1, but that may change if we change our mind :)

Желательно иметь эту карту, но можно обойтись и без этой карты, тогда подключение через город Кале (Франция), перейти в зону загрузки, там все четко написано

Celebrating Road to Asia's initial release with adding a little bit more North Korean assets. Yes, Road to Asia has big plans for the furture. But we are far from reaching that yet. [WIP]Road to Asia Version 1.1 for ETS2 1.41-Korea

As many of you have seen in the previous post, Korea is being developed for "some odd reason". Well, it isn't odd, even the original Road to Asia pre-TerraMaps advertised that Korea would be done, we just decided to work on it now because, well, it's Korea and who doesn't love Korea!!

North Korea is being developed first, but South Korea will also be developed. We predict 4 cities in the north and 3 cities in the South including both capitals, Pyongyang and Seoul, will be in the next version, but of course we have a bureaucratic process behind the scenes where Tedesco, our Lead Developer, has to sign off on what is included in each version. But one common question I'll answer now - YES, we will have a road connection between South and North Korea at the Kaesong/Dorasan border area, this border IRL was opened for a while a few years ago for truckers and inter-Korean business and tourism even, but shut down due to conflicts in the area. We don't see "politics" in ETS2, everyone should enjoy all recognized sovereign nations, so we'll leave this border opened for your enjoyment In the far future when China is more developed, we'll have a ferry connection between Shenyeng to connect the Koreas but we'll keep the border opened for those who want to fully explore the Asian Highway (AH1). Long term plans.

What we want to add is that we understand the political situation of North Korea, and despite all those problems, we decided to map it anyways. We simulated North Korea as much as we could. You’ll see tough border checkpoints, empty roads, a limited number of garages and recruitment centers, so it really makes you feel like you’re actually there. We do not in any way wish to participate in political discussions about NK and its government, we simply wish to map it and include it in our Map Mod. We thank you in advance for understanding this.

We also get many questions about de RC between Turkmenistan and Korea. There will be a RC, like a Ferry connection between those two countries, for the time beeing until we are able to make a normaal Road Connection.

[WIP]Road to Asia Version 1.1 for ETS2 1.41-Turkmenistan Complete

Fellow Truckers, I hope everyone have had a enjoyably summer! As you may be enjoying a summer break, vacation/holiday, time off, etc., so are many of our team members. For this reason, development has indeed slowed down, but definitely has not stopped!

Right now, we have developers mapping full time on Road to Asia. It may have been slowed down for the time being, but we predict will pick up soon. As you know, putting release dates on maps just makes maps be released longer and cause disappointment, so I emphasize the word predict! 🙂

Modeling and researchers are in full speed as well. Part of what makes our maps special is the time spent on asset and model development, so please give us your famed patience while we work on detailing our maps beyond the community standard, remember, that's why thanks to you all TerraMaps is the fastest growing mapping organization in existence so thanks for your continued patience!

Other projects besides maps in development are a new web server for our premium downloads which is being developed internally, a map making course, even a modeling course by one of our modelers. We are also transitioning our Discord bots to the Dyno bot (Formerly MEE6)

You can continue of course to interact with us on our Discord and forums while we work and we should have some more information on the releases for our map coming up by the end of the summer. So stay tuned and rest assured TerraMaps is still continuing our operations!
