Update on Patreon Service
The Admin team decided to look into better options.
We found one!
Discord has these services and even more to offer and easier to manage than Patreon, and they take less fees too! There is a new channel called server shop above, you may see those on other servers you're in. I have made the same exact tiers, except renaming the purple basic tier to "TerraPlus" tier.
But what about the money I spent on Patreon?
If they decide to permanently close down our Patreon account, the money you spent for this month will automatically be refunded by Patreon itself. Please monitor that, I'd hate for funds you intended to go to us wind up in the Patreon fat corporate hands. If they decide to continue our account, the funds will be there, I will take some time to manually refund anyone who decided to subscribe to us now in the Discord server.
Should I enroll in the Discord subscriptions now then?
It's up to you, our stance has always been we never want to pressure anyone or cause any financial burden on those who want to financially support us and help fund our project! At the same time, we have hundreds of dollars of locked funds now in Patreon's website, and we also need to raise an initial $100 to unlock more features in the Monetization Program I enrolled our server in. So I'd appreciate if anyone has the comfortable means to enroll in our shop, otherwise feel free to wait out the 29 days to see what happens with Patreon.
Will we go back to Patreon?
No. Even if Patreon unlocks the account, we will permanently switch to Discord Subscriptions. Our entire operation is primarily run on Discord anyway; when someone would sign up for Patreon, they still had to go to Discord here to obtain their quick downloads and beta versions
What about my roles?
Right now, the roles remain the same. If you choose to wait out the 29 days, you will still have your role. However, if your monthly renewal date is up, it will not auto renew on Patreon, so your role will automatically be disconnected. Without access to the Audience page on Patreon, I cannot verify any emails or membership or Discord account linkeage; therefore, we have to rely on the automated system.
Although this is sad to lose out on Patreon after using them for the last 5 years, I am excited to see what Discord's systems has to offer us. It appears to be more modern, "flashy", and there are tons more features we can explore and utilize as we grow with it. Thank you everyone for your continued support and understanding!
Oh, and almost forgot, we decided to back down from our initial Patreon Basic Tier (now TerraPlus) plans about early access. Instead, we will be removing the early access beenfit from Server Boosters. Patreon Baisc Tier/TerraPlus subscribers will receive the same benefits they received before (early access to the map 2-7 days before the general public and a continued direct download link)
