Itinerary
Qule plans on visiting various regions of Armenia first before heading off into Georgia. These images that we view from our perspective provides an updated, realistic view of road textures, markings, and the surrounding terrain. Through Qule's eyes, he is able to capture the ambience and that extra "ingredient" that you can only obtain from actually visiting and being around that area. When we add Armenia into Beyond, we will be able to capture the environment from a first hand experience.
Scenery
Besides the roads, signage, markings, and terrain; well speaking of the terrain actually, Qule is enjoying the breathtaking views of Armenia and not just taking it in, but seeing first hand what types of mountains and the orography of the country and areas we plan on mapping. Every region around the world has a unique look to it, and at TerraMaps, our goal is to capture the realism and beauty of the specific region with precise detailing of the topography and terrain.
While areas may have street view imagery, it is still hard to find and capture those unique road models and signage that you can only find from actually being there. Like this old remanent of the Soviet Union that Qule was able to capture. Thanks to that, we will be able to have our modeling team replicate a 3D version of this monument and place it into our map to really bring these small details into your simulator.
Imagery vs "Being There"
You'd might say, well, these images are pretty good, isn't that enough to make Armenia and Georgia in Beyond for ETS2 by TerraMaps? You may be right, after all, we were able to capture areas like Afghanistan, North Korea, and Turkmenistan without actually visiting these nations, but take a look at areas such as Uzbekistan, Cuba, Thailand, and other areas that were made by developers who have actually been to those areas. There are unique shops and other small details that can only be done by actually visiting or being there. Other areas like Iran, China, and the Caribbean have been contributed by Research Team Members who actually live in those countries and that helps tremendously as well.
Diving into that special "ingredient" more, it's the ambience of the nation and region that when one visits, it's a lot easier to utilize through creativity and innovation to capture that atmosphere and deliver it into the 1:19 scale of the ETS2 game. Also capturing factories, industrial zones, and areas that we frequently visit in the game is a lot easier to capture and get a grasp of when actually visiting and getting to know the local environment, industry, and even people.
"Being here is just incredible," Qule says, "as I drive around the countryside and see these unique mountains, my mind is full of ideas and different ways I can approach capturing this beauty in the ETS2 editor in no way imagery online can provide".
Beyond Plans
We have announced earlier our plans to go into Armenia and Georgia, and we want to ensure we do a good job on it. As we inch closer to these countries, we are well prepared thanks to Qule's research trip to this part of the world to take on two beautiful nations.
